The proteomics platform “Brain proteomics” is essentially dedicated to the study of the brain proteome using two-dimensional gel electrophoresis 2DGE. Several methods have been developed enabling the use of several pH gradients and the coupling of 2DGE with Western-blotting, gel staining and /or mass spectrometry. Protocols can be adapted or specifically designed for the development of projects. Thus, a 2D-DIGE (2D Fluorescence Differential Gel Electrophoresis) is available to study the human or rodent brain proteome. The proteomics platform is in a dedicated room with all facility and equipment. The Brain proteomics platform is equipped with three isoelectrofocalisation apparatus (Ettan IPGphor, G&E, and BioRad Protean IEF) and several second dimension vertical SDS-PAGE (Ettan Dalt 6 and Protean II XL cells). Members of the platform propose a feasibility study of the project, the potential outcomes as well as an estimation of the duration and cost. The platform also collaborate will Mass Spectrometry platforms for the characterization of protein or other more specific aims.
